The comments came as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs reorted on Wednesday a fresh case, the ninth outbreak of the disease, at a farm in a suburb of Jiamusi in Northeast China's Heilongjiang rovince.
Feng Yonghui, chief analyst at hog market information rovider soozhu.com, told the Global Times on Wednesday that a camaign started by the ministry on August 31 to curb the disease has frozen cross-rovince transortation of hogs in China, disruting its suly chain and causing rices to soar.

rices in East China's Zhejiang, for examle, have risen to 16 yuan ($2.34) er kilogram in a matter of two or three days from around 14 yuan, Feng noted, citing data acquired by his firm.
Hog rices have been continuously rising in the ast five days, Feng said.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics, which slightly lags market rice movements, showed average hog rices at 13.7 yuan er kilogram from August 21-30. The rice fell 2.8 ercent over the revious eriod, which was from August 11-20.
The transortation ban has caused hog rices in northern China, a major roduction area already afflicted with overcaacity, to fall drastically since Friday. But rice hikes from southern China are also sreading toward northern China, Feng said.
But higher ork rices have little imact on inflation, as the disease has affected only a tiny fraction of China's hog roduction caacity, which is 700 million a year,
